On canvas or paper, in stone or bronze I portray women caught in movement. The delicate balance just before taking a step, a sculpture that seems to breathe in a profound state of tranquillity, or the lady that is almost merged into her canvas: all of them share with us their own momentum.

Often my work starts out with an impulse, an impression, a moment. When at work, I like to allow my materials room to have their own way. In this way, I can never be totally sure up front what the end results will be.
